RVR Foundation envisages to provide ethical and quality health care to patients of all strata that is cost-effective, holistic and effective with a humane touch. RVR Foundation has taken speciality healthcare to the villages and to the poor people without compromising on quality and effectiveness of treatment and has been successfully strengthening healthcare in the rural communities of India. The activities of the RVR Foundation started in 2004 as a small out-patient centre at a rented premises that was opened by the Acharyas of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. Subsequently two OP centres were established one at Hospital Road, Kancheepuram and another within the premises of Lakshmi Hospital, Nellukara Street, Kancheepuram.
RVR Foundation opened its full fledged medical centre, the Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Medical Centre within the campus of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Enathur, Kancheepuram on 19th December 2009. From a centre running Out Patient care for two hours every day, this centre matured with the following departments – namely casualty, Ayurveda, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, Pharmacy, Photography, Physiotherapy and Day care centre. It promotes spiritual health through Yoga in mornings and regular bhajans in the evenings. The administration of this fully functional medical centre was handed over to the Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya by the Foundation on 8th July 2012 to continue offering excellent health care service to the University and its allied departments.
RVR Foundation – Rural Health Research Trust was established on 29th November 2018 through a deed of trust with its registered at G – 2, Aravind Apartments, 116/21 Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Vadapalani, Chennai 600026. It is involved in providing free teleconsulting services and ensures high quality health care to all its patients. Also monthly clinics in all the telemedicine centres as well as other rural centres ensures that the health needs of not less than 20000 individuals is taken care of.
The Foundation promotes health services, public and medical education and health related research activities and is one of the fore-runners in speciality care, especially Neurology in Kancheepuram.
